Land reallocation (Umlegung) under German law is a land readjustment procedure in which plots are reorganized to make them suitable for building use in accordance with the zoning plan (Bebauungsplan). Owners receive replacement plots of equivalent value where possible; a monetary compensation is provided when necessary. (§ 45 ff. BauGB)
