Also known as: termination periods, cancellation periods, lease termination notice

Tenants can always terminate with three months' notice to the end of the month. For landlords, the notice period increases with the duration of the tenancy: 3 months (up to 5 years), 6 months (5 to 8 years), and 9 months (over 8 years). (§ 573c, § 573d BGB)
