Also known as: energy certificate, EPC, building energy certificate

The Energieausweis (energy performance certificate) documents the energy efficiency of a building and is mandatory for sales, rentals, and leases. There are two types: the consumption-based certificate (Verbrauchsausweis) and the demand-based certificate (Bedarfsausweis). The certificate is valid for 10 years and should already be stated with energy performance values in property advertisements.
